NTFB Scores Above 900 on AIB International Audit
The high score will be recognized with a flag from Feeding America.
For the second consecutive time, the North Texas Food Bank Operations and Quality teams scored above 900 on the bi-annual AIB audit.
The audit is a globally recognized, detailed inspection meant to assess the food safety practices of a company or organization. NTFB Director of Quality Renu Krishnan says it is the No. 1 indicator for the effectiveness of our Quality Management System, facility operations, equipment, cleaning routines and overall environment.
Senior Director of Logistics Mike Cannon adds that the audit and high score are extremely important to the team as they have immense pride in NTFB’s facility and the work they do to serve our neighbors facing hunger.
“This score reflects the efforts we take to ensure that the products our neighbors receive are safe to consume, which is especially important in the food banking industry due to the nature of the product we receive and distribute,” Mike says. “It takes our entire staff to insure we continually meet our Quality objectives. Everything we do is governed by a process and when one link in the chain deviates from standard processes it sets us up for failure.”
Adds Renu, “A massive shoutout to all our staff for continuing to keep the high standards in the last two consecutive audits, as it helps to provide our neighbors with access to quality and nutritious meals.”
The AIB Audit is conducted by AIB International (formerly the American Institute for Baking), which is a leader in food safety education and auditing.
