When a nonprofit organization joins NTFB as a Partner Agency, they become our partner in hunger relief and getting both donated and purchased foods to the families and individuals who need them. Typically, agencies share in the cost of handling this food by contributing a per-pound handling fee- during the COVID-19 pandemic handling fees were waived to ensure our agencies and those they serve have the foods they need. In addition, we do not ask Partners to share in the cost of handling perishable items that might spoil before they can distribute them, such as bread, fresh produce or short-dated dairy items, or other items that must be distributed quickly.
