Founded in 1982, the North Texas Food Bank celebrated its 40th anniversary in 2022. Since the first 400,000 pounds of food were distributed in 1982, NTFB’s impact has grown exponentially, to deliver more than 144 million pounds of food in FY23. With this growth, we also know that it takes more than food to end hunger. Moving into our next four decades, we’re finding new ways to increase food donations, leveraging our diverse network of partner agencies and the critical wraparound services they provide, helping more neighbors find relief through food assistance programs, and making a lasting change in the fight against hunger by addressing the underlying barriers to food security.
