What is SNAP?

The Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program (SNAP), formerly known as food stamps, helps people buy the food they need for good health. SNAP offers nutrition assistance to millions of eligible, low-income individuals and families and provides economic benefits to communities.

What Does The Process Look Like?

  1. Fill out the form and NTFB will contact you to help and prepare you to apply
  2. Submit your application
  3. Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) will process your application.
  4. If approved, you will get an EBT card in the mail to access your benefits.
  5. Use benefits to buy groceries.
