Nutrition Services
NTFB has provided free nutrition education services to low-income populations since 1996. In partnership with Feeding Texas, HHSC and local community organizations, NTFB serves about 2000 participants annually through our nutrition workshops that are delivered both in-person and virtually. Currently, there are 79 community pantries that are active in the Nudge Pantry Program.
Criteria
NTFB’s Nutrition Education Services listed below are available free of charge to all organizations serving at least 50% low-income populations.
NTFB offers a variety of nutrition education workshops to food insecure North Texans in partnership with local community organizations. These engaging and fun workshops are taught in a group setting at a host site and teach neighbors the basics of nutrition, cooking, food-budgeting, and food safety to promote healthy and affordable food choices. Nutrition education workshops are available for kids, teens, adults, and seniors. Each workshop includes an engaging nutrition lesson, a fun hands-on activity, a cooking demonstration with some basic culinary lessons, and food sampling. If your organization is interested in hosting a nutrition education, please complete this Nutrition Education Request Form.
