Volunteer Spotlight: 7-Eleven, Inc. Provides over 500,000 Meals for North Texas Neighbors

The Irving-based company supports North Texas Food Bank through donations and volunteers during its annual 7Cares Day.

North Texas Food Bank is thankful for the support of 7-Eleven, Inc., which in the last two years has provided more than 500,000 meals through financial and volunteer support.

“We could not do what we do in the fight against hunger without the support of our community and generous partners like 7-Eleven,” says Elizabeth Campo, Volunteer Specialist.

Around 50 employees volunteered during National Volunteer Month in April and helped to pack 43,200 meals. Through the company’s annual 7Cares Day events, 7-Eleven also sponsored two volunteer shifts in 2023 and 2024. The sponsorship includes a donation toward NTFB’s programs supporting neighbors facing hunger. It also allows 7-Eleven to have exclusive volunteer experiences at NTFB’s Perot Family Campus, team building while sorting, packing and boxing food for those facing hunger.

“Giving back and leading through service has always been a part of our company’s DNA,” says Erick Robinson, Communications Manager for 7-Eleven International. “Through volunteer initiatives – like 7Cares Day events – along with charitable donations to support important causes, we’re helping build thriving communities for years to come.”

Erick says 7-Eleven supports several organizations that help combat the community’s most pressing needs, including NTFB. The company has three key philanthropic focus areas that NTFB’s mission encompasses: health, safety, and opportunity.

“At 7-Eleven, Inc., we care deeply about the communities we live and work in,” he says. “It’s why we strive to be good neighbors in everything we do.”

When employees are able to get involved during 7Cares Day, Erick says they can see first-hand the important work that charities like NTFB do for the community.

“It has been rewarding. It gives you the satisfaction of knowing your contributions are making a difference and helping communities thrive,” he says. “There’s a sense of fulfillment that comes with knowing you’ve made a difference by helping support the overall health and wellbeing of the communities in which you live and work as well as building team camaraderie.”
