- Cut the ends of the watermelon.
- Slice the Watermelon in half.
- Once cut, remove the rinds (outer skin).
- Cut the Watermelons into smaller pieces.
- Blend the Melon pieces.
- Once properly blended, use either a cheesecloth, strainer, or Nut milk bag to strain out the pulp.
- Squeeze the lime to the juice.
- Bruise the mint leaves, sweet basil and Thai basil (using your hand) and soak them in the Watermelon-Lime mixture for about an hour.
- Either refrigerate or add ice cubes and serve chilled.
TIP: How to pick a good watermelon:
- Look for a yellow side (this is the spot the melon was laying on the ground while attached to the vine). If the spot looks smaller or more white than yellow, the melon may not be ripe.
- Tap the underbelly and listen for a deep sound. If it sounds hollow or dull, it means the melon may be going soft and will spoil. • Dull and heavy watermelons are ripe!
