Ann Folz Leaves Legacy of Fighting Hunger

Months after she died at the age of 94, Ann Folz is still fighting hunger.
The third-generation Dallas resident not only asked for gifts to North Texas Food Bank in lieu of flowers, but she also included NTFB in her estate plan. The planned gift will provide thousands of meals to children, families and older adults facing hunger across our community.
“North Texas Food Bank is honored that Ann Folz would include us in her planned giving,” says Erin Fincher, Senior Director of Foundation Giving & Strategic Initiatives. “Her generosity will make a critical impact for the 1 in 7 North Texans facing hunger. We are so appreciative of her support as we work to ensure everyone has access to the nutritious food they need to thrive.”
NTFB staff remembered Ann as an ardent supporter who was thoughtful and kind. They described her as a no-frills, no-nonsense person who was civic minded and enjoyed “warm brownies, fig preserves that weren’t too sweet, and a simple hamburger (no fuss or frills!).”
Along with supporting NTFB, Ann was an active member of the National Council of Jewish Women and the League of Women Voters. She also volunteered at Oak Lawn Branch Library and other local organizations. When not engaged in civic work, Ann enjoyed traveling the world, collecting art and supporting art and education in Dallas.
She is preceded in death by her husband, A. Lorch Folz. Her full obituary can be viewed aquí.
Planned gifts like Ann’s are an essential part of NTFB’s support as they equip us to serve the needs of today while ensuring that we are prepared to meet the needs of the future, regardless of circumstance. NTFB is grateful for the partnership and support of the community. To learn more about planned giving, visit ntfb.org.
