Host a Canned Food Drive

As the Food Bank works to meet the need during the COVID-19 crisis, we are asking the public to host focused food drives. Simply select one item to gather, then provide the Food Bank with presorted boxes of items. The Food Bank team will use these to create family food boxes that will be  provided to our Feeding Network.  Our most needed items for this effort include:
  • Canned tuna or chicken
  • Canned fruit in juice
  • Peanut butter
  • Cereal bars
Before you get started, please review our Canned Food Drive handbook, which has helpful FAQs.
If you're having trouble viewing the handbook, please download the PDF version and view in Adobe.

Thank you for hosting a Canned Food Drive and joining us in the fight against hunger in North Texas! To save resources, our drivers work to incorporate food drive pick-ups into their normal food distribution routes. Because of this, in most cases, we cannot accommodate an exact pick-up date and time request. When you submit a request for pick up, we will respond with an approximate date when our drivers can pick up and as the date nears we will contact you to confirm the exact date and time the driver will arrive.
