Cacique Foods, SinHambre and the RoughRiders work to Strike Out Hunger
The Irving-based food company is donating $50 to the NTFB every time the team makes a double hit.
The North Texas Food Bank can now provide access to 150 meals every time a home double hit is made by a member of the Frisco RoughRiders team.
Irving-based Cacique Foods, LLC, the No. 1 brand of authentic Mexican-style cheeses, chorizos, cremas and salsas in the U.S., announced in August that it would donate $50 to support the NTFB and its mission each time a double hit was made by the RoughRiders, the Double-A affiliate team of the World Series champion Texas Rangers. The partnership was announced in collaboration with SinHambre, an NTFB affinity group that’s led by the North Texas Hispanic and Latino community.
“We are thrilled to partner with the Frisco RoughRiders and support the incredible work of SinHambre and the North Texas Food Bank. At Cacique, we believe in the power of community and the joy of giving back,” said Tirso Iglesias, Chief Operating Officer for Cacique Foods. “This exciting partnership allows us to make a meaningful impact by combining our passion for quality with our unwavering commitment to fighting hunger in North Texas. We look forward to cheering on the RoughRiders and making a difference together.”
With every $50 donation made, the NTFB can provide neighbors facing hunger with access to 150 meals. Currently, the region served by the NTFB has the fourth-highest number of people facing hunger in the country. Nearly 778,000 of our neighbors don’t know where their next meal will come from. That is enough people to fill Riders Field, where the RoughRiders play, more than 75 times.
“This partnership with Cacique is exciting for our organization,” said Scott Burchett, RoughRiders General Manager. “We’re proud to partner with an iconic brand to support the North Texas community and those in need.”
The RoughRiders play through September, with three Division games scheduled this week against the Midland Rockhounds. This week marks the start of Hispanic Heritage Month.
