Where Can I Use SNAP?

Grocery and convenience stores aren’t the only places that accept SNAP. SNAP EBT cards can also be used at Farmers Markets, on Amazon and at other online retailers.

Amazon

An Amazon Prime membership is not required to use SNAP benefits at amazon.com. Simply set up an account, add your SNAP EBT card and select items that are marked as eligible. You can also access Amazon Fresh and Whole Foods Market delivery (though delivery does come with a feed). Learn more here. Note: SNAP members are eligible for a 50% discount on Prime Access.

Farmers Markets

Coppell Farmers Market

Thanks to the Double Up Food Bucks Program, SNAP recipients can see their benefits go father at the Coppell Farmers Market each Saturday. Present your SNAP card at the Farmers Market and receive up to $30 extra dollars in Double Up Food Bucks Program tokens to use at the market. Tokens are good for fruits and vegetables while SNAP benefits can be used on produce plus milk, eggs and other local foods. Find out more here.

Dallas Farmers Market

Shoppers at the Dallas Farmers Market can request a list of SNAP eligible items from staff and then return to the Information Booth with their shopping to check out. Eligible items include local fruits and vegetables, meat, eggs, dairy products, honey, locally made pastas, canned goods, seasonings and more. The market, hosted at The Shed, is open Saturdays and Sundays.

Denton Community Market

Receive tokens at the Denton Community Market Farmer’s District entrance based on your SNAP benefits for purchasing fruits, vegetables, meat, fish, dairy products or seeds and plants so you can grow your own food at home. The market is open on Saturdays. Learn more here.

For Oak Cliff Farmers Market

For Oak Cliff, which operates each first and third Saturday, includes designations on its website that show SNAP users which booths they can visit to make purchases. Some of this year’s booths include Sweet Vegan and Four Girls and a Guy Bakery. See the full list here.

Good Local Markets

This group operates the Lakewood Village and White Rock Farmers Markets. Both accept SNAP at a number of vendors and work to promote access to local produce. Lakewood is open on Sundays from February through July while White Rock is open on Saturdays each March through December. Find out more here.

Fresh Stop Farm Stands

These stands are operated at four WIC clinics and at Owenwood Farm between April and October each year. They bring produce from local farmers to clinics so that families don’t have to travel to a farmers market for access to local fruits and vegetables. Along with their SNAP benefits, individuals with WIC benefits can receive an additional $30 voucher for extra fresh produce. See a full list of locations here.

Delivery & Online Services

SNAP benefits can be used to place online orders for pickup or delivery with Kroger, Albertson’s, ALDI, Target and Walmart (where SNAP, WIC and Medicaid recipients can also receive a discounted Walmart+ membership). DoorDash and Instacart also will deliver groceries through SNAP. Delivery fees will apply but many services offer free delivery on first use.
