Thomas J. Henry’s Feast of Texas Provides Over 3.5 Million Meals Statewide

The initiative is helping North Texas Food Bank distribute 375,000 meals to neighbors facing hunger this holiday season.

For the second consecutive year, injury attorney and philanthropist Thomas J. Henry provided a remarkable 3.5 million meals across Texas meant to bring “hope, nourishment and joy” to neighbors this holiday season.

Known as Feast of Texas, Thomas J. Henry’s initiative included donations to North Texas Food Bank, San Antonio Food Bank, Houston Food Bank, Central Texas Food Bank and Coastal Bend Food Bank. At North Texas Food Bank, his generous $125,000 donation is helping provide 375,000 meals for neighbors facing hunger.

Thomas J. Henry knows the holidays present a real challenge for many families and that this year the need is even greater due to the recent government shutdown and delay in SNAP benefits. Like North Texas Food Bank, Thomas J. Henry believes no one should go hungry.

“The holidays are a time for family and gratitude, but we know that for far too many Texans, the season can bring hardship rather than comfort,” he said. “With this second annual Feast of Texas, we’re renewing our commitment to ensuring that every family, whether in the big city or a remote rural county, has a reason to feel cared for and connected.”

The Feast of Texas outreach began over 30 years ago when Thomas J. Henry hosted a turkey giveaway focused on the Coastal Bend region, where his law firm began. The model has grown to meet the increased need statewide. Thomas J. Henry now has offices in Corpus Christi, San Antonio, Austin, Houston and Dallas.

Trisha Cunningham, President and CEO of North Texas Food Bank, said the gift comes at a critical time for NTFB and the neighbors it serves.

“The holidays can be especially challenging for neighbors already struggling to make ends meet, and many families are still recovering from the impact of the recent government shutdown,” she said. “With Texas leading the country in hunger and 1 in 6 North Texans not knowing where their next meal will come from, this contribution from Thomas J. Henry will provide much-needed relief to the children, families and older adults facing hunger across North Texas. We are grateful for the generous support.”
