Texas Rangers Volunteer at North Texas Food Bank

Members of the Texas Rangers organization spent the afternoon of January 21 at North Texas Food Bank sorting and packing produce for their neighbors facing hunger.
Support from organizations like the Rangers makes a real difference in the fight against hunger, and North Texas Food Bank is grateful for their willingness to show up and serve our community.

Infielder Josh Smith, who served alongside shortstop Corey Seager and his wife Madisyn Seager, said they enjoyed the opportunity to give back.
“I live in the area so if I can come out here and help these families… any way I can help kind of makes you feel good and hopefully makes some families feel good too,” he said, speaking in a video on MLB.com.

More than 60 individuals from the organization volunteered and together packed 19,440 pounds of produce.
That food will directly support children, families and older adults facing hunger in our community.
And it comes at a time when the need remains high. In the 12 counties served by North Texas Food Bank, more than 744,000 people don’t always know where their next meal will come from. That is enough people to fill Globe Life Field, where the Rangers play, more than 18 times.
