NTFB Thanks Supporters at Taste of the Cowboys Virtual Event
When we had to re-imagine the way the North Texas Food Bank distributes food in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, generous supporters came forward to make it possible for us to keep up with the unprecedented demand.
And when we had to re-imagine one of our signature fundraising events, Taste of the Cowboys, into a virtual experience, it was the perfect opportunity for us to transform what is usually a tailgate party to a celebration of gratitude to those who have steadfastly supported our mission during this time.
Taste of the Cowboys: A Virtual Night of Gratitude, hosted by NTFB and the Dallas Cowboys and presented by Caliber Collision, took place on Thursday, June 25. It featured appearances from current and past Dallas Cowboys football players, including a welcome message from former defensive tackle Chad Hennings and an interview with Pro-Bowler offensive guard, Zack Martin.
NBC5 news anchor Meredith Land served as emcee of the evening’s main program and introduced messages of gratitude from special guests such as Jerry Harris from the popular Netflix series, Cheer, and Chris Harrison, Dallas native and host of The Bachelor.
“It is the grace and love and the kindness from people like you who will get us through this,” Harrison said in his message to NTFB supporters.
The evening’s festivities were capped off by a live and inspiring performance from country artist Pat Green.
Throughout the event, attendees could bid on silent auction items, including autographed sports memorabilia from athletes such as Phil Mickelson, Troy Aikman, Emmitt Smith, Ezekiel Elliott and Dirk Nowitzki.
This evening could not have been possible without our amazing sponsors. In addition to Caliber Collision, we want to recognize and thank ExxonMobil, Lockheed Martin, NTFB Indian American Council, The CFO Suite, Pollock, Deustch Family Wine and Spirits, Maker’s Mark, The Calling, Josh Cellars and Kendra Scott.
And of course, thank you once again to our incredible supporters for all you have done to help us fight hunger in North Texas. We are grateful for your ongoing trust and commitment. As Hennings said in his welcome message, thank you for scoring “touchdown after touchdown” for our neighbors in need.
