Staff, Volunteers and Corporate Partners Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month

US Foods supported over 24,000 meals with a donation as part of NTFB’s Hispanic Heritage Month volunteer shift, and Cariloop supported 4,500 meals.

In celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, US Foods donated the equivalent of 24,225 meals to North Texas Food Bank in support of their neighbors facing hunger.

Cariloop, a locally based business that supports care workers, also donated funds to support 4,500 meals.

The companies made their gifts at the conclusion of a volunteer shift hosted on October 4. Volunteers included US Foods, several NTFB employees who are part of the internal affinity group Unidos Contra El Hambre, New York Life employees, and community members.

During the shift, volunteers sorted food donated to NTFB by partner retail stores. After the shift, US Foods sponsored lunch and paletas for volunteers to enjoy from Nuevo Leon, a restaurant in Richardson.
