Ryan Celebrates Commitment to Hunger Relief with NTFB Truck Sponsorship
The global tax services firm headquartered in Dallas has now supported more than 1.2 million meals for their neighbors facing hunger.
With its most recent investment of $75,000 in the North Texas Food Bank’s mission, Ryan has now helped to provide more than 1.2 million meals to its neighbors facing hunger since 2006.
The latest gift is part of a sponsorship that will feature the Ryan logo on a co-branded NTFB truck, which delivers meals across NTFB’s 10,000-square-mile service area. NTFB and Ryan also recently celebrated the appointment of Ryan Global President and Chief Operating Officer Ginny Kissling as NTFB board chair.
“We are honored to work with and sponsor an NTFB truck and hope that inspiration will spark for other businesses to donate their time and resources to initiatives their team members are passionate about,” Ginny says.
Since 2006, Ryan and its team members have contributed nearly $340,000 through event sponsorships, matching employee giving, and participating in NTFB’s annual Peanut Butter Drive. With the addition of the $75,000 investment in fiscal year 2024, Ryan has now helped enable more than 1.2 million meals for children, families, and older adults facing hunger.
At Ryan, hunger relief is an issue that team members have long felt passionate about. It first partnered with NTFB in 2016 as it began RyanSHARES Day, in which the firm celebrates its anniversary by giving back to the community. Team members were asked then what they wanted to support, and hunger relief was the overwhelming response. It has continued to be an issue that Ryan cares about and champions through employee giving, corporate support, and volunteering. Ryan employees were at NTFB’s Perot Family Campus just last month to pack and box meals for neighbors during RyanSHARES Day 2024.
“Being headquartered and founded in Dallas, we are proud to support community members and families in our backyard and hold a year-round relationship with NTFB,” Ginny says. “From the Peanut Butter Drive to telethons to lunch n’ learns, we deeply appreciate the partnership with NTFB and our shared commitment to innovation and ending hunger.”
Ginny has been a member of NTFB’s board since 2018, serving as Finance Chair from 2021–2023 and as Chair-Elect during fiscal year 2024. NTFB is grateful for her leadership as Chair during fiscal year 2025, which began July 1.
Throughout the communities in which it operates, the Ryan Foundation supports the pillars of education, health and wellness, and poverty and distress relief. “Generosity Matters” is one of its values and Ginny says they hope it guides their interactions in and out of the office, knowing that the best way to share your success is by supporting others.
“We encourage our team members to dedicate their time to their communities or to initiatives that they feel called to support, and we do so by conducting office-organized events, grant-matching volunteer hours, and supporting our team members with 16 paid hours to volunteer every year,” she says. “In 2023 alone, we had 103 volunteer events worldwide that supported 108 charities.”
NTFB President and CEO Trisha Cunningham says the company’s partnership is critical as the food bank works to ensure everyone in North Texas has access to the nutritious food they need to thrive. Recent data from Feeding America shows Texas now leads the nation in hunger and the 13-county area served by the NTFB has the fourth-highest number of food-insecure people in the country, with nearly 778,000 individuals facing hunger.
“We are so grateful for the generous support of Ryan, which has long shown a shared dedication and passion for providing nourishment and hope to our neighbors,” Trisha says. “This gift brings us closer to our vision of a hunger-free, healthy North Texas at a time when the need for food assistance is greater than even at the height of the pandemic.”
