Get Ready for Empty Bowls with a Barely Blush Cocktail


Kroger shares the recipe for its signature cocktail being served at the NTFB’s Feb. 29 event.

This gin-based drink is herbaceous and fruity without being too sweet. Make your own with the recipe below, and watch John Votava, Director of Corporate Affairs at Kroger, make the drink alongside Erica Yaeger, North Texas Food Bank Chief External Affairs Officer. The cocktail will be served at the NTFB’s Feb. 29 Empty Bowls event. A limited number of tickets are still available here.

Barely Blush Cocktail

Serves: 2

Prep time: 5 minutes

Ingredients:

4 sage leaves, plus extra for garnish

½ cup Ruby Red pulp-free 100% grapefruit juice

½ cup gin

Sparkling water, as needed

Preparation:

In a cocktail shaker, gently muddle sage leaves.

Add ice, grapefruit juice and gin to the shaker. Cover and shake vigorously.

Fill two 8-ounce glasses with ice. Divide the contents of the shaker tin between the glasses.

Top with sparkling water and a sage leaf.
