Fight Hunger While Enjoying Authentic Chinese Cuisine in DFW

For each NiHao Community Meal Reward Card purchased, North Texas Food Bank can provide 60 meals for neighbors facing hunger.

As the Lunar New Year approaches, the NiHao Food Bank Initiative has teamed up with two dozen Chinese restaurants to launch the first-ever NiHao Community Meal Reward Card. This $20 card offers discounts at some of the most popular Chinese restaurants in the DFW area throughout 2025, blending culinary delight with charitable impact. The card will debut at the U.S.-China Chamber of Commerce Dallas’ Lunar New Year Gala on February 1 in Frisco.

“Every time someone uses the card, they’re reminded of the importance of helping others and contributing to the fight against hunger,” says Ceci Hampton, founder of Hampton International and a volunteer who helped recruit participating restaurants. “By placing the concept of giving right in front of people—every time they sit down for a meal—we hope to inspire a culture of compassion and encourage individuals to take an active role in supporting their neighbors in need.”

CY Chen, a NiHao Steering Committee member, shared that a dedicated team of NiHao ambassadors—high schoolers, including Betty Liu, Jennifer Regal, Emma Wei, Andrew Cai, and Lulu Gong—worked tirelessly to ensure the reward card features a diverse range of restaurants across DFW, from Frisco to Carrollton to Arlington. They believe this initiative is the first of its kind on such a large scale within the Chinese American community in the metroplex.

Participating restaurants include Ahoyama, Bamboo House, Boba Guru, Bobahead, DH Noodles, East Wall, Fine Asian & Full Bar, Gangam Rice, Garden Restaurant, Hachi Sushi and Omakase, Haidilao Hot Pot, Hanaya Hibachi + Sushi + Ramen, Hong Yuan Dumplings & Noodles, Massage 8 Spa & Beauty, Ninja Ramen, Ninja Sushi Grill, Noodle Works, Royal Tea, ShangHai Taste, YD Day Spa, Yomie’s, Yo! Bowl, Zhang’s Bistro, and zTao Kitchen.

“This initiative connects local businesses with the North Texas Food Bank (NTFB) in a meaningful way,” says CY Chen. “It’s not just about big donations. We want to provide accessible opportunities for people to contribute to the fight against hunger while raising awareness across the community.”

Cards can be purchased by emailing NiHao at nihaofoodbank@gmail.com.
