2008 Canstruction Media Release

WHO:

This is a deliciously inventive charity of the design and construction industry (benefitting North Texas Food Bank) created by the Society for Design Administration working in tandem with the American Institute of Architects.

WHAT:

Canstruction® combines the competitive spirit of a design/build competition with a unique way to help feed hungry people. Competing teams, led by architects and engineers, showcase their talents by designing giant sculptures made entirely out of canned foods. At the close of the exhibition, all of the food used in the structures will be donated to the North Texas Food Bank for distribution to 917 feeding and education programs including food pantries, emergency shelters, soup kitchens, after-school programs, and other social service centers.

WHERE:

NorthPark Center

8687 North Central Expressway

Dallas, Texas 75225

WHEN:

Teams will build their structures on Saturday, September 6th from 6:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.  The structures will be on display Saturday, September 6th through Sunday, September 14th.
