Site Spotlight

The Child Programs team at the NTFB would like to thank the F4K Letter Writing Campaign for making it the most successful campaign to date and Sachse First United Methodist Church for hosting the third annual Russ Noland Memorial Golf Tournament. A special thanks to Jessica Hume, Counselor at Skyview Elementary, for being the voice of the F4K participants. We would also like to thank all of our outstanding F4K Site Coordinators for taking on this project at their individual sites. We greatly appreciate everyone involved for your generosity and commitment to the children we serve throughout North Texas.

F4K Reminders and Updates

During the 2008-09 school term, the F4K program experienced tremendous growth and ended the year with over 300 sites serving almost 8,000 children each week.

We are excited to announce this summer is the first for the F4K program to continue operating through summer school. Children who participated in the F4K program during the school term are eligible to continue receiving their Backpack if they are enrolled in a summer school program.

Remember to complete and fax your 2009-10 F4K Application and Agreement before the fall term begins. Be sure to check the Child Programs Calendar for important dates (training, etc.).

Nutrition Tips, Recipes, and Activities

PEANUT BUTTER PLAYDOUGH

• 1 cup peanut butter
• 2/3 cup – 1 cup powdered dry milk
• 2 Tablespoons honey

Mix all ingredients together for a fun, edible playdough!
