Feast of Sharing

Central Market/H-E-B Feast of Sharing

Central Market/H-E-B welcomes the community to its second annual Feast of Sharing, a free Thanksgiving dinner celebration with all the trimmings, on Thursday, Nov. 13, 2008 from 2-7 p.m. at Fair Park's Centennial Building. The free holiday dinner is the highlight of the company's year-round effort to combat hunger, with the goal of serving 10,000 meals in four hours. Guests also will find music and entertainment, and several non-profit and social service organizations will be on-hand to provide free health screenings and share other helpful information. Central Market also plans to distribute fresh fruit and other food that guests can take with them as they leave.

fHundreds of volunteers are needed to support the event as Central Market/H-E-B brings the Feast of Sharing to the Dallas/Fort Worth area for the first time. For more information about the Feast of Sharing, please call 214.252.5900.

Resounding Harmony

Resounding Harmony Concert benefiting NTFB
November 17 and November 24

Help Close The Gap with Glorious Music!

The two debut concerts of North Texas’ newest community chorus, Resounding Harmony, will benefit the North Texas Food Bank the week before Thanksgiving. The 175-voice chorus, under the direction of Dr. Timothy Seelig, will perform a wide range of repertoire in a concert titled, “Grateful.”

The first concert is November 17 and brings NTFB to Collin County. It will be held at St. Andrew United Methodist Church and sponsored by SMU-Legacy Campus. The 7:30 p.m. concert will also feature the outstanding Children’s Choirs of St. Andrew.

The second concert is at 8:00 p.m., November 24 at Caruth Auditorium on the campus of Southern Methodist University. It will feature Resounding Harmony with the SMU choral ensembles under the direction of Dr. Pamela Elrod. The sponsors of the concert are Meadows School of the Arts, Art for Peace & Justice and Sammons Center for the Arts. The SMU concert also benefits Crossroads Community Services.

Both events will include a food drive for NTFB.

Tickets for the concerts are $25 and are available beginning October 6th at www.resoundingharmony.org.

Ylang 23's beautiful holiday gift, benefiting NTFB

Meet Chip, who is helping feed hungry children through the North Texas Food Bank. $50 of each sale goes to the Food 4 Kids backpack program, which provides nutritional snacks over the weekend to children that have been identified as chronically hungry by school staff. Chip, like the North Texas Food Bank, knows how to store food for when it's needed, and he is happy to be a daily reminder of your good deed. Special thanks to our friend Catherine Michiels for creating an exclusive design for this amazing project. To purchase Chip, click here.

Extinguish Hunger

November 1 – December 31, 2008

We are excited to begin this annual holiday campaign partnering with the Dallas Fire-Rescue Department, sponsored by Wachovia. Drop off nonperishable food items in November and December at any City of Dallas fire station or Wachovia location and help support hunger relief in North Texas.
